Parent and Family Programs

We understand the importance of parents and families staying actively involved in students’ lives, and we want to help make you feel as much part of your college student’s experience as we can.

UO leads parent and family programs through the Office of the Dean of Students. You’ll find helpful information and updates about important campus goings-on on their site.

An additional resource is the Parent and Family Association. Joining this supportive group can enhance your involvement in the college experience. Membership benefits include:

  • Monthly electronic newsletter
  • Enhanced communications and information from the university
  • Connections to other duck families in your region
  • Access to the career-focused Parent Professional Network (PPN)
  • Invitations to send-offs, watch parties, and other events
  • Discounted tickets to family weekends
  • Campus crime and emergency notifications
  • Access to athletic event group rates for select events
  • Ability to serve on the leadership team or as a regional representative
  • Advisory Council to the Dean of Students

Parents and families can receive all of this for a one-time $70 fee, which provides a membership for up to two parents/family members until your student is no longer attending the UO. Families who have a student who is Pell Grant–eligible are exempt from this fee.
