Welcome to the University of Oregon! We’re so excited to welcome home to Eugene. Today is about helping you understand life inside and outside of the classroom. We’ll introduce you to programs, resources, and departments that are here to help you. We’ll also teach you about some traditions at the UO and how to navigate this great city.

All sessions are mandatory.

Flock Meeting 1

You will be placed in a small group led by an incoming student on the Student Orientation Staff, your “SOSer”. They’ll be your guide throughout the day and will make sure you get where you need to go!

11:15–11:45 a.m.

Intro to Academics

Academic advisors will share about what it takes to earn a degree and stay on track for graduation.

Your Story, Our Story

All Ducks have a story that tells us who they are. Share your story, learn about resilience, and discover the places on campus to find a home away from home.

Lunch on Your Own and Resource Fair

Grab lunch on your own and explore the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) – the UO’s center for student activities and involvement. 

EMU Dining Venues

1:25–2:25 p.m.

Current Ducks will teach you about consent, sexual violence and being an effective bystander.

You must attend this session, or a hold will be placed on your account that will impact future registration. If you are concerned about attending due to prior harm, please check-in with a professional staff member to receive confidential support during the experience.

University Health Services: Comprehensive Care, Right on Campus

UHS is conveniently located on campus and offers many services to UO students, including medical care, mental and allied health services, and programs for well-being. UHS is a nationally accredited, multi-specialty health care organization with more than 150 staff whose primary focus is the health and well-being of UO students.

Trek through the Trees

Choose your pathway for the afternoon sessions.
Note – students are required to attend at least one session, but you can choose which sessions you would like to attend.

  • Presentation 1 - 3:40–4:05 p.m.
  • Presentation 2 - 4:10–4:35 p.m.

In addition to attending you required session, this can also a good time to explore campus on a self-guided tour or check out all of the programs and services the EMU has to offer!
