Before You Arrive
Before you arrive at IntroDUCKtion, there are several required to-dos. Don’t procrastinate!
- Claim your Duck ID. You’ll need your UO ID number and admission application email to choose your Duck ID and password. Your Duck ID is your login credentials for most UO technology and the first part of your @uoregon.edu email address.
- Set up your DUO two-step authentication. You’ll want to have your mobile device nearby, but you can do this immediately after setting up your Duck ID.
- Log in to MyUO before IntroDUCKtion to make sure you can access the system. You’ll use MyUO during IntroDUCKtion to register for fall classes. To log in you'll need your Duck ID, password, and Duo set up on your mobile device. For technical support or login issues with MyUO, please visit the UO Service Portal.
- Take your placements. We strongly recommend all new first-year students complete the math placement prior to their academic advising appointment. You will find out if you should complete the Chemistry Placement in the placement module in the Orientation and Academic Advising Course at community.uoregon.edu when it opens in June. You may also need to complete a language placement if you’re planning to continue language study.
- Students who are transferring credits from other institutions may not need to take a placement test and should talk to their academic advisors for help.
- Submit your photo for your Flock Card. You’ll need to log in to the UO Card Office’s portal to submit a JPEG photo of yourself and a photo of your government-issued ID. We will have your card ready at your in-person IntroDUCKtion session (on-campus weekday sessions only) if your submission is successful.
- Complete your Orientation and Academic Advising Course requirements when the course opens in June at community.uoregon.edu, including the advising module and the academic integrity module.
- Set up your Nearpeer profile! We’ll use Nearpeer during IntroDUCKtion so set up your profile and connect with new classmates before you arrive.
- Complete the Launch Survey to help us support your first-year success and be entered into a raffle for $20 in Duck Bucks. It takes less than 5 minutes, and you’ll need your Duck ID and Duo set up first.
Begin to Do This Every Day
- Read your @uoregon.edu email with attention and take action when required. We can’t emphasize this enough. Go to UOMail and login with your @uoregon.edu address and your Duck ID password. To change your password, go to duckid.uoregon.edu.
