IntroDUCKtion Cost

The orientation fees for 2023-24 cover all costs associated with IntroDUCKtion, Week of Welcome, Winter Warm-Up, and Welcome to the Flock series.

Orientation fees for 2023-24 are:

Fall 2024 first-year students: $395
The fee covers up to two nights in University Housing during on-campus, in-person programs before September,* one guest to attend the parent and family program,** staff wages, space and equipment rentals, technology licenses, enhanced custodial and sanitization, printed materials for students and parents, mailing costs, and any meals provided during programs hosted by Student Orientation Programs.

Fall 2024 transfers and mid-year admits during 2023–24: $225
The fee covers staff wages, space and equipment rentals, technology licenses, enhanced custodial and sanitization, printed materials, and any meals provided during on-campus programs hosted by Student Orientation Programs.

Fall 2024 off-site program fee: $450
In lieu of the fall 2024 first-year or fall 2024 transfer fee, the off-site fee covers the additional costs associated with the off-site programs like travel for UO representatives, venue space rentals, and meals. And, like the regular fees, the off-site fee includes one guest at no additional cost. Student housing at off-site hotels is not included in this fee.

Additional guest: $125
The regular fees include a guest for each in-person program.

Change fee: $15
This fee is charged each time a change is made to an existing reservation and covers the staff time required to make changes.

Refund policy: We will offer a 100-percent refund, minus the $15 change fee, of the orientation fee if canceled 30 days before the in-person session; a 50-percent refund, minus the change fee, will be offered if canceled seven days prior to the students' in-person session; no refund will be offered if canceled within seven days of the in-person session.

Are you a student on Tuition Equity? Email us at orientation@uoregon.edu to let us know so we can support you.

* The orientation fee does not cover the additional room and board fees for students who attend a program in September. Students attending an in-person session in September may opt to move in early but are not required to do so. Opting to move in early will require an extension of a student’s room and board contract and costs vary based on room type and meal plan selected by the student. Should you opt to move in early, you must request and be approved for early move-in through University Housing. Information about early move-in requests will be available in your My Housing portal sometime in August.

** The fee cannot be prorated for students who opt not to bring a guest.
