Academic Support

College can be challenging, both academically and personally, so remind your student you are proud of them and make sure they know you have their back. There are several resources and services available to help them stay on track.

Academic Advising

At IntroDUCKtion, your student will meet their academic advisor for the first time. Encourage them to check-in with their advisor each term to make sure they are on track and getting their academic questions answered by the people who know best. In addition, students can run a degree audit using DuckWeb to see where they are on their path toward graduation. The Degree Audit documents your student’s completion of general education and degree requirements. With the UO ID and PAC number, students may log on to DuckWeb and access their most recent audit via the "View Degree Audit" heading on the Student Menu of DuckWeb.

Tutoring & Study Skills

Another service to support student academic success is the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), an office committed to helping students get the most out of their academic experience. The TLC offers a variety of services to accomplish this goal, including tutoring in math, writing, languages, science, and study skills.

Also, at a minimum, your student should develop these good habits: get to class early, sit in the front of the room to minimize distractions, visit professors during posted office hours, and meet with an advisor at least once per term.
