Welcome to the University of Oregon!
We’re so excited to welcome you home to Eugene. IntroDUCKtion is about helping you understand what it means to be a Duck both inside and outside of the classroom. We’ll share tips for student success, help you understand what it takes to earn your degree, and introduce you to programs, resources, and departments that are here to help. We’ll also teach you about some traditions at the UO and how to navigate life as a Duck.
All sessions are mandatory.

9:30–10:15 a.m. | Intro to Advising Learn more about what you have in store as you transition from your previous institution to the UO! We’ll cover everything from credit articulation to academic support resources, and more. | |
10:25–11:25 a.m. | Get Explicit This is our sexual violence prevention program, where you will hear from current Ducks in University Health Services about consent, sexual wellness, and being an effective bystander. | |
11:25–11:30 a.m. | Morning Wrap Up Review next steps after lunch, including the available interest sessions during Trek Through the Trees - our conference style programming. | |
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | Lunch on Your Own Use the Duck Bucks card you received during check-in to purchase lunch at any of the open on-campus dining venues. | On your own! Check out a full list of summer dining options. |
1:00–1:35 p.m. | Student Wellbeing: University Health Services This session introduces the wide range of services offered by University Health Services. It highlights its role in supporting student health and well-being. You'll learn practical ways to use these resources, along with guidance on having meaningful conversations about health and wellness. | |
1:35–1:40 p.m. | Trek Through the Trees Instructions Before Trek Through the Trees, our conference style programming, begins, we’ll review logistics and the available interest sessions. | |
1:40–3:40 p.m. | Trek Through the Trees This panel-style presentation consists of current UO students who work in wellbeing related programs in University Health Services. During the panel, you can expect to learn more about requirements for incoming students, navigating the transition into college, and what it means to "be well" as a college student at UO! We'll also have time for you to ask any questions about wellbeing you may have. | |
3:40–4:00 p.m. | HYPE! Experience some of the traditions that make the UO unique and get HYPED at the end of your session! |
Trek Through the Trees – Interest Sessions

Sports 101 | Sports 101 will provide you with the info you need to support the Ducks across all UO athletic events - from tickets and rewards to involvement; this is your key to being the best Duck fan you can be. You'll learn how to secure tickets for UO athletic events, including updated Duck Sports Pass policies, and how to get involved with athletics through Pit Crew and Mighty Oregon Rewards. | |
Fraternity and Sorority Life 101 | Learn more about the fraternity and sorority community as a whole, each individual council, and the recruitment process. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of our community, how to get involved, and the resources needed for next steps. | |
Get Involved with Clubs | Hear from staff in the Center for Student Involvement about what kind of clubs are offered at UO, how to find student organizations, and ways to get involved on campus. Learn how to find your communities and navigate the online platform for all UO-affiliated student organizations. | |
Getting Started with Technology on Campus | Staff from the Technology Service Desk will cover the software available to students, commonly asked tech questions, and provide crucial information on ways you can successfully navigate tech as a student. | |
University Career Center | Get to know the resources available at the University Career Center. Whether you're looking for a job, exploring internships, learning about a career, wanting to connect with employers, or just polishing your resume, they're here to walk alongside you as you take the steps to build the career readiness skills to launch into your future. | |
Real Life @ UO: Campus Safety Essentials | College is full of new experiences — including navigating campus and life on your own. This interactive session introduces you to the people, tools, and resources that help keep you and the University of Oregon community safe. Meet the teams from UOPD and Safety & Risk Services, explore safety apps, maps, and emergency resources, and practical tips for handling common campus situations while staying aware, prepared, and connected as a Duck. | |
Study Abroad with Global Education Oregon (GEO) | Discover the many ways UO students study abroad. Learn about program types, funding opportunities, and how an international experience can support your academic, career, and personal goals. | |
Accessible Education Center (AEC) | If you—or your student—had a 504 plan or IEP in high school, we recommend attending this session. Learn how the Accessible Education Center (AEC) supports students who self-identify with a disability. Including the process for meeting with an AEC advisor, the accommodation process, and sending notification letters. | |
Understanding Financial Aid | Gain a better understanding of financial aid and scholarships at the UO. Learn from our team about navigating different types of aid, important deadlines, and tips for understanding your aid package and managing costs during your time at the university. | |
Ask the Experts: Current Student Panel | Curious about life as a Duck? Hear directly from current UO students about life on and off campus. You'll also have plenty of time to ask the questions that matter most to you. | |
Quack the Code: A First Year’s Guide to Academic Success | Learn how to navigate the transition to college academics with support from the Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center. Explore academic support services, strategies for success, and ways to build strong academic habits from day one. Students and families will leave with a better understanding of the academic support resources available at the UO, the differences between high school and college learning, and how to prepare for a successful first term. | |
Pathway Oregon | PathwayOregon students and families only - This session is required for students who are part of the PathwayOregon program. Families are strongly encouraged to attend. Please note there is not an application process for the PathwayOregon program. Students are in the program if it was included in their Financial Aid package. |
