Winter Warm-up

Winter Warm-up

Winter Warm-Up is our signature transition program that takes place throughout the first week of winter term: January 8-12, 2024. This series of events is targeted to incoming winter admits (freshman and transfer) and fall admits from the previous term (freshman and transfer). Winter term is our second largest admit class, following fall, and we know how tremendously challenging it can be to come in mid-year. Come engage and have a little fun with new peers, staff, and faculty members from across campus to get your winter term started off right.

Event Schedule

Monday, January 8

Transferring Home, EMU Redwood Auditorium, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

This event is specific to transfer students. Spend time getting to know more about the UO and transfer-specific opportunities. Meet and learn from campus partners and socialize with other incoming transfer students! You’ll even receive your very own UO transfer student T-shirt.

Tuesday, January 9

Movie Night featuring Legally Blonde, EMU Redwood Auditorium, 6:00–8:30 p.m.

Bring one of your new roommates or winter term classmates to a low-key movie night—you'll even get to meet our furry pal and UO community member, Thor. There will be light snacks, good vibes, and a vintage movie Duck poster for all student attendees.

Wednesday, January 10

Flock Party Pro, EMU Crater Lake North and South, 12:30–2:00 p.m.

Flock Party Pro brings together many campus resources and student organizations. Join us and meet student leaders, get free swag, find ways to get involved, and have a blast at the UO’s block party we call the Flock Party Pro!

Thursday, January 11

Taco Transfer Thursday, EMU Crater Lake North and South, 5:30–6:30 p.m.

This event is specific to transfer students. We know transferring to a new school can be a lot. Before the end of the first week of winter term, join other transfer students to build community, eat from a yummy taco bar, and find friendship before the term really takes off.

Friday, January 12

Y2K Night, EMU Redwood Auditorium, 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Step back in time at our unforgettable Y2K Night! Join us for a nostalgic journey to the turn of the millennium. Dust off your denim, break out the butterfly clips, and get ready to dance like it’s 1999! This night will be filled with iconic tunes, throwback trivia, and a vibe that takes you straight back to the early 2000s. Grab your friends, embrace the Y2K aesthetic, and make some memories. Dressing up is encouraged; folks with the best Y2K fits will be entered into a raffle at the end of the night!
