Hear from Renée James, the former president of Intel and current CEO of Ampere Computing, and current student, Alex Mentzel, a professional performer and Clark Honors College senior majoring in German Literature and Culture and Theater Arts. He is currently writing an original performance piece based on Kafka’s The Trial that addresses themes such as immigration, human rights, and government bureaucracy. He has also appeared on Fox’s Glee and NBC’s Grimm.

Volunteer roles include: assisting with activities setup, assisting sponsors setup tabling, setting up activities and explaining games to students and patrons, getting the keeping students engaged, etc.

 

Shifts are usually scheduled between 4:00PM - 11:00PM, for as many hours as you indicate your willingness to volunteer.


The Flock Party provides a fun, interactive, and informative celebration to welcome University of Oregon students and sets the tone for the new year. The Flock Party is the largest campus-wide welcome event of the year. Volunteers will receive a Flock Party t-shirt and can sign up for various shift times throughout the event.

Connect with other UO students as you serve alongside organizations contributing to the well-being of our communities. Select from several different projects around Eugene-Springfield.

The Holden Center will be collaborating with numerous campus and community partners, hosting several service projects around Eugene-Springfield.

Details about each opportunity will be sent to all pre-registrants the week before the event for preferred placement. All non pre-registrants will sign up the morning of the event.

Project sign-up will be first come, first served the morning of Saturday, Sept. 22. Details about the sign-up and schedule will be sent to registrants the week before the event.
