Transfer IntroDUCKtion

Being a transfer student is pretty rad, and we are excited that you chose the UO to continue your academic journey. You are joining a flock comprised of faculty members, staff, and peers who are just as excited that you’ve made this decision and can’t wait to meet you.

IntroDUCKtion is our orientation program that is required for all incoming transfer students. During IntroDUCKtion, you’ll learn what it means to be a Duck and what it takes to be successful here at the UO.

Get Ready for Fall

For transfer students entering fall 2024, IntroDUCKtion will happen in three required parts.

Attend a Transfer IntroDUCKtion Session

Attending a Transfer IntroDUCKtion session is required for all incoming transfer students.

Your session date is not tied to your academic advising appointment and course registration for fall term.

Virtual Advising and Registration

All students must meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for their first term. Your advising and registration will happen virtually.

Online Requirements

Through an online course on community.uoregon.edu, all new students will be required to complete a small number of assignments throughout the summer to gear up for fall term.

Our orientation course and modules will open at the beginning of June to complete.

Transfer IntroDUCKtion Dates

Wednesday, July 17
Wednesday, August 7

Transfer IntroDUCKtion will take place on campus in Eugene during the two dates listed above. Each session will be a day-long experience and students are expected to sign up for the session that works best for their schedule and attend the session in its entirety.

Parents and Families

We will offer a comprehensive, concurrent IntroDUCKtion for parents and family members during each in-person session for Transfer IntroDUCKtion sessions. You may register one guest at the time of registration in your student portal. If you expect you will have more than one guest, please contact Student Orientation Programs for your options. Please note our Cost and Fee page regarding fees associated with additional guests.

IntroDUCKtion Registration

Registration for the Transfer IntroDUCKtion sessions will open on Monday, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, for all new students who have submitted their Intent to Register and the Advance Tuition Deposit. Students may register for IntroDUCKtion using their application status portal. Please choose the session that’s best for you, and that you can attend in its entirety.
