In addition, we seek to improve the quality of the new student experience by providing assistance with academic, personal, and social adjustments to the university, demonstrating the University of Oregon’s commitment to teaching, learning, and scholarship.

Student staffs:

Ambassador and Multicultural Recruiter Programs - The Ambassador Program combines two of the most effective and well-received recruitment tools at the University of Oregon. The program uses a staff of current students to recruit prospective students with phone calls and campus tours. Ambassadors will most likely be the first contact prospective students have with the UO, and because of that, they serve as a very important representative of the university. While maintaining the same workload as the general Ambassadors, Multicultural Recruiter-Ambassadors (MCRs) specifically focus their recruitment efforts for underrepresented students, especially in their close work and presentation of Connections open house events. These students have an in-depth knowledge of multicultural recruitment issues and a broad base of involvement with campus services and resources related to cultural diversity.

Student Orientation Staff - Student Orientation Staff (SOS) members are an elite staff of current undergraduate students who represent the University of Oregon. SOSers are the first to engage all new students as they enroll in the University of Oregon and it is their job to facilitate these students in a smooth transition into the UO. They are directly involved in IntroDUCKtion and Week of Welcome.
